About the Matillion guides

Matillion's Data Productivity Cloud changes quickly: new connectors, new orchestration features, and a steady stream of Maia AI agent capabilities. The Matillion changelog records those changes one line at a time, which tells you what shipped but rarely what it means for a pipeline you already run.

This section fills that gap. The Engineering Desk reads the changelog each week and writes a guide when a change affects how teams build, schedule, or pay for pipelines. A guide explains the change, works through the cost or runtime effect with the documented numbers, and says plainly whether you should act now, wait, or ignore it.

The responsible editor, Lars Cornelissen, builds Matillion pipelines on Snowflake in his work as a data engineer at Alliander. First-hand notes from that work are marked as editor's notes, so you can tell which observations come from a running platform and which come from the documentation.
